I recently had the pleasure of having my car die at 5:30 in the morning. With less than 20 minutes to get to work. I had to wake my significant other to help boost the beast and it still wouldn’t start.
This I am sure is repeated often by many working people. The result being very highly elevated blood pressure levels and many lost hours of production. Not to mention smaller paychecks and the cost of fixing the vehicle. This seems like the cost of doing business today, commuting is unavoidable. In most cases, the buses do not run to the area we have to get to or they take much too long to get there.
Well today again the car did it to me, a repeat of its last performance with a battery dead and the voltage regulator toasted. A twenty dollar part but a pain in the —.
This could be avoided by having a part that worked correctly but that would be putting people out of work that make that part. It also could be upgraded to work correctly but now would cost sixty dollars instead.
Despite all the frustration I still like to use my car. I am very pro environment and use propane instead of gas. It is much cheaper and allows me to use a larger vehicle.
I will probably continue like this till it falls apart and so will millions of others. We seem to be stuck in a rut we cannot get out of. If the governments wish to make a dent in pollution they will have to take the bull by the horns and make a logical, practical transport system. Us the workers are the ones that will foot the bill and use the system.
So far none of this has come about, and the gas companies do not look like they will give up their stranglehold on us, even if we all die coughing.
I personally look to our own drive to push these people on to solving this situation. There are many solutions check out these sites.
